Too Little or Too Much

What’s good to keep in your dorm room?

When I first arrived to college I went food shopping like crazy food shopping! I purchased all my favorite foods in BULK!

Cookies, chips, cake, juice pouches, you name I had it in bulk!

All my favorite goodies

However, I had all my favorite foods in my dorm some didn't last long and I couldn't get rid of the ones I really wasn't fond of.

So I feel like this video is good for people who are trying to figure out what to buy and what not to buy for your dorm room.

Garbage Nachos

Nachos again?

I love nachos… soooo

YEAH! More Nachos

There are so many ways to make nachos, yup it’s nachos with Queso.

Here is an image that came up in a search for ‘Jalapenos' at MorgueFile
Ingredients:
  •   Tortilla Chips
  • Queso
  •  Salsa
  • Sour cream
  • Jalapenos  (Optional)

If you choose to use queso instead of shredded cheese…

You need a microwavable bowl and pour a generous amount of queso cheese in to the bowl and warm in the microwave for :30 seconds or until cheese is warm.

Then pour salsa and sour cream in to warmed queso and mix together well.

Next place a generous amount of tortilla chips on a plate and then pour the mixture on to the chips and place jalapenos on if wanted. You could also dip the tortilla chips into the mixture (less messy).

Enjoy!

The Coffee Cup Scramble

Good morning
Good morning, Breakfast
It's my favorite meal y’all
I've waited all night long!

I love breakfast food but as a college student you have to skip breakfast for more sleep or you have morning classes and don’t have time to eat breakfast.

…Or so you thought!

A quick and tasty breakfast option could be Scrambled eggs in a cup!

You’ll need…
  • Coffee Cup
  • 2 Eggs
  • Shredded Cheese
  • Salt/Pepper
  • 2 slices of Bacon
  • butter

Scrambled eggs in a cup

Scrambled Eggs in a Cup
First cook bacon in the microwave. (If not sure see post “Beggin’ for More Bacon”). When bacon is done set to the side to cool.

While waiting for your bacon to cool, lightly butter coffee mug, then place the egg, cheese, and salt and pepper into the mug.

Once bacon has cooled break it up into pieces and then place in the mug with the other ingredients.

Beat the ingredients together until well beaten. Then place the cup in the microwave for: 45 seconds.

Now you can enjoy an egg, cheese, and bacon breakfast on the go.

Lets Snack Healthy

College can be a bit stressful and sometimes as college students we don’t have the time to get a decent meal so we snack… A LOT!

With all that snacking going on we get to enjoy that comfort food YUM YUM YUM.

However, we start to realize that we look and feel a little heavier and when we step on the scale and it says you’re getting little chubby… not what we want to see.

So here is a video to show how to eat healthy while you’re at school!

Of course this is only to give you an idea what you might want to keep in your dorm room. Its easy to eat health you just have to want to do what's best for you.

So try to avoid getting pizza, pasta, and fried foods try the healthier opinions, like she said in the video.

Customize healthy eating to your own benefit so you can have a healthier you.

Easy Nachos

Ingredients
  •  Tortilla Chips
  • Shredded Cheese
  • Salsa
  •  Sour cream (Optional)
  • Jalapenos  (Optional)

Directions

On a microwavable plate place a layer of chips that just covers the bottom of the plate. Then add a generous amount of shredded cheese on top and then place another layer of chips. Continue as needed.
-layering the chips and cheese on the plate makes sure that the cheese is seen throughout the chips

Then place the plate with tortilla chips and cheese into the microwave for 1 minute or until cheese is melted.

Then place as much salsa as you like on chips

Next you place your choice of toppings and enjoy.

How to Make Bacon in the Microwave

You’ll need:
  • Bacon

  • Microwavable Plate
  • Microwave

Step 1: Cover the plate with paper towels

Step 2: Place your desire amount of bacon on top of the paper towels. Try not to overlap the pieces.

Step 3: Next place another paper towel on top of the bacon. The second paper towel is to help absorb the grease that the bacon produces.

Step 4: Place plate into the microwave and heat for 3:00 minutes.  If not fully cooked, then place bacon back in to the microwave for another minute.
