Thanks for Giving

Leftovers

Thanksgiving Leftovers

I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving with your loved ones.

I made sure that I brought my leftovers back to school with me to make sure I had some good food to eat during exam week.

The good thing about holidays you have extra leftovers, however you can always go back home get a cooked meal and then make you a to go box. If you eat out a restaurant you could also save those leftovers too.

Things You need:
  • Leftovers
  • Refrigerator
  • Microwave

Dorm Room Gourtmet

Bagel Pizza

For anyone who knows me knows I love pizza! I try to get my hands on pizza all the time. However, I don't always have the funds to buy pizza or just my luck the one time I do go to the cafe they don't have pizza.

So while browsing on YouTube I came across the video "Dorm Room Gourmet: Easy Coking in the Dorm Room" and you don't understand my excitement when I realized this video was about pizza bagels!

I love pizza and now this guy has made my life so much better! He has taught me how to make my own personal pizza on a budget and in the microwave.

THIS IS A MUST WATCH!!!

Camping Indoors

Dump Cake

Camp Fire
This summer I was given the opportunity to work for a Girl Scout Camp called Camp Pisgah! It was a wonderful experience and I really enjoyed working there and I miss it at times.

Every Wednesday we would cookout with the girls and I looked forward to building fires and making our meals over the fire… it’s not that easy making a fire when rained earlier that day.

Anyways my favorite thing to make, over the fire, was dessert and I always tried my hardest to convince a group of girls each week to make Dump Cake. Dump Cake was my favorite it was so good!

So one day I thought to myself if I can make dump cake over a fire I’m pretty sure I can make it in the microwave!

This recipe is meant to be made for one individual

You’ll need:
  • A Sweet Tooth
  • A deep medium Microwavable bowl
  • Fork

Ingredients:
  • ¾ cups Pie Filling
  • ½ cup of Boxed Cake Mix
  • 1 ½ Stick of Butter

Cake and Pie Filling Ideas:
  •  Yellow Cake: Apple, Cherry, Strawberry, or Blueberry pie filling
  • Chocolate Cake: Cherry, Strawberry, or Raspberry pie filling
Step 1: Take your bowl and use 1/2 a stick of butter and butter the bowl very well, to make sure you avoid things from sticking.

Step 2: Pour the pie filling into the bowl and then slice half a stick of butter up and place it on top of your choice of pie filling.

Step 3: Then pour cake mix evenly on top of the pie filling and butter. DO NOT MIX!

Step 4: Next you’re going to slice the rest of the butter up and place the slices evenly along the cake mix

Step 5: Take the prepped Dump Cake to the microwave and leave it in for 10 minutes it is normal to see the mixture bubbling... BUBBLING IS GOOD!

When the microwave is done you have your Dump Cake! Your Dump Cake should look like a cake/pie when done. It is normal to see some cake mix not really baked just mixed it in to the rest of the cake and you should be fine!
Enjoy!

Make Me Cheesy

Here is an image that came up in a search for "Noodle" at MorgueFile

Ramen and Something Special

I’m no fan of Ramen Noodles but sometimes that’s the only thing to eat in your room. However, you can get tired of eating the same thing over and over again.

Sometimes you have to spice things up. You know have something other than the norm.

How do you change already flavored noodles?

KRAFT’S VELVEETA CHEESE!

Instead of putting the seasoning that comes with the pack replace it with Velveeta Cheese to spices things up a bit.

The Coffee Cup Scramble

Good morning
Good morning, Breakfast
It's my favorite meal y’all
I've waited all night long!

I love breakfast food but as a college student you have to skip breakfast for more sleep or you have morning classes and don’t have time to eat breakfast.

…Or so you thought!

A quick and tasty breakfast option could be Scrambled eggs in a cup!

You’ll need…
  • Coffee Cup
  • 2 Eggs
  • Shredded Cheese
  • Salt/Pepper
  • 2 slices of Bacon
  • butter

Scrambled eggs in a cup

Scrambled Eggs in a Cup
First cook bacon in the microwave. (If not sure see post “Beggin’ for More Bacon”). When bacon is done set to the side to cool.

While waiting for your bacon to cool, lightly butter coffee mug, then place the egg, cheese, and salt and pepper into the mug.

Once bacon has cooled break it up into pieces and then place in the mug with the other ingredients.

Beat the ingredients together until well beaten. Then place the cup in the microwave for: 45 seconds.

Now you can enjoy an egg, cheese, and bacon breakfast on the go.

Welcome

Dorm Appétit

Coming into college not all college students have kitchen appliances in their dorms; most of us just have a small refrigerator and a microwave.

The food restaurants on campus is where college students may get their main meals but what happens when those options are not available? What a delicious night you get to eat a cup of noodles and some junk food, better yet you can spend your last $20 on expensive Chinese food and tip the driver because you got it delivered.

BUT WAIT!

There could be other options for food. You could prepare a meal in your microwave something quick and fulfilling. This blog is for college students to show them creative ways to make meals in their room when they don’t feel like spending money on fast food, going to the caf, or simply not wanting leaving their rooms.
